Project description

The industrial power plant in Gengenbach was previously only used for supplying energy to a local furniture factory, and was previously chiefly operated with used oil. Since October 2001, the power plant has been owned by MVV Energie AG, Mannheim. Its operation was switched to biomass, which is obtained almost exclusively from wood waste generated by the furniture factory. Surplus energy is now fed into the public grid of the local energy utility.
