Project description
Within the scope of the UN program “Oil for Food”, Siemens received an order for the rehabilitation of the boilers 5 and 6 as well as for selected balance-of-plant components in the Daura power plant, Baghdad. The scope was to return the two oil-fi red Benson natural circulation boilers to their original design in order to reach the initial generator output of 157 MW per boiler again.

Project handling in Iraq through INP
INP has been cooperating for many years with two partner companies in Jordan and Iraq for this kind of projects. These companies dispose of a lot of experience in the construction of plants and power stations. For projects in Iraq, either employees are sent by these two companies directly on the job or in case of any particularities the employees are trained for the projects in Germany before. The so far managed projects in Iraq have been executed to the highest satisfaction of the German customers.
