In March this year, INP received the order from EnBW to install the higher-level instrumentation and control technology in PCS7 at the Heidenheim industrial power plant on the company premises of Voith. The old systems in S5 and conventional technology have to be migrated to PCS7, and existing as well as new S7 Blackbox controllers must be incorporated into the higher level I&C system. First of all, the basic system was set up at INP in the test area and taken into operation.
The project has been in the detail phase since May, which means hardware and software engineering, building new cabinets or converting cabinets on site, installation, startup and trial operation. The system comprises about 15 individual systems. Finally, a higher-level open and closed-loop control system will be implemented in order to permit optimum operation of the complete system as well as 1-man operation.
In addition to the work in Heidenheim, two cabinets for the I&C connection of the new switchgear system are currently being set up at the test area in Römerberg.
